Golden Chain Motel

The housekeeping staff was awesome, and the office staff were friendly and quick to help. If I needed anything, they took care of it right away without making me ask twice. That service made me feel like I was at home. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. It's not the Hilton, sure, but I had a really nice stay.

We always enjoyed hanging out on the patio by the pool, and the outdoor setting is beautiful if you like being outside. For years, this was our go-to place during the Nevada county fair. The rooms are a little outdated, and one year we had bed bugs, though the problem was fixed right away. The staff are awesome. Waking up each morning and having a cup of coffee with the manager/owner always felt great. Thank you!

The employees were really nice and helpful, and the room and pool were clean. Cigarette smell was the big problem, though. It hit us right away in the lobby, followed us through the little hallway to our room, and there was even a dirty ashtray on the stairs that shouldn't have been there. We had low expectations to start with, so the stay was okay and we weren't really let down.

Peggy was so welcoming and friendly. It's an old Motel, and the price gives you an idea of what to expect. The beds were comfortable, the heater put out plenty of heat, the water was hot, and Direct T.V worked fine. The room did smell musty and like cigarettes, though, so we had to buy air freshers.
