The room was old and had a strange musty odor, though it was reasonably clean given the condition. After the football game, I got back around 2 a.m. and the card lock wouldn't read my key. The desk clerk had to call someone to let me in, which took 20-30 minutes. That shouldn't happen. I ended up here after my Auburn hotel was overbooked. I found out at 5 p.m. on a Friday during football weekend, and a quick phone search showed this place had a room, so I booked without checking reviews. The property felt terrifying, especially the sketchy area behind the hotel and the other building. If you need a big room on a budget and can handle a 45-minute drive to Auburn, it might suit you. With time and money to spare, I'd look at the better options a few miles away.

The air-conditioning worked well, and it was quiet in the room. That's about the only good I can say. We stayed because I was having back surgery at the hospital there. There are two floors and no elevator. On the way up, people were hanging around, some working on cars, and others in the halls. The key didn't work the first time. All the lights and appliances were unplugged, the bathroom mirror had a big mess of soap lather with an X drawn through it, and there was no Kleenex or bathroom trash can. The place was rusty, and the bedspread had burn marks all over it. Never again.

The pool was open, but it was green and gross. The website said breakfast was included, yet there was no breakfast available at all. We had to leave the first room because the toilet didn't work. The next one was worse: the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, and I stepped on glass on the floor. I showed the front desk my foot and the glass, and they told me they don't recommend walking around barefoot. We asked for a refund, but they would only give us $35. Don't stay here, it's horrible.

The iron was dirty and sprayed water everywhere. I needed toiletries because my luggage was delayed, but they couldn't help with that. The room was in disrepair, and half the outlets didn't work. I got just one towel, one hand towel, and a washcloth, and the towel was paper thin. Passable at best, and I can't recommend it if you're looking for anything above a one-star place.

I didn't feel safe there. There was trash everywhere, the furniture was very old, and the people hanging around seemed a bit unsavory. The woman at the front desk gave me a key but sent me down the wrong hallway. I had made a reservation, but the facility wasn't what I expected, so I asked for a refund. The manager said it would take 5-7 days. I still haven't received it. When can I expect my refund?
