Best Western Plus Philadelphia-Choctaw Hotel and Suites

It’s okay, but breakfast is the low point. It feels like they open a can and serve it. The biscuits get put out again until they’re gone, and they’re cold, so you have to toast them. Coffee is available all day and night from a machine you have to get used to. The old doors stick and need replacing. Don’t assume one has closed behind you when you leave, double check it. The toilet sits lower than everything else, too, which makes getting up and down hard, especially for seniors. Rooms have no USB ports for charging phones. Two bottles of water in the room at check-in and a better breakfast would help a lot. Then it could be called the Best Place to Stay in Philiadelphia.

I was there for a concert at the casino, and my room had a photo. The king bed was so hard that I tossed and turned in pain most of the night.

The lobby felt inviting, the front desk was friendly, and our room was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. I’d been a bit wary after reading reviews, but I don’t have much negative to report. The elevator creaked, and the carpet looked dreary and due for an update. From our window the pool looked cloudy, though guests were swimming and relaxing beside it. The gym had enough equipment and cleaning wipes. Breakfast had the usual choices, with a good selection and tasty food. There was a yogurt machine with toppings, waffle add-ons, good pork sausage links and what may have been a veggie or meat substitute, plus really good sausage gravy. The coffee machine makes lattes, Fraps, cappuccinos, and more, so there’s something for everyone. Breakfast is listed as 6:30-9:30, I think, but when we checked out around 10:45, they hadn’t packed everything away or closed the area, so it might still have been possible to get what was left. We were filling water cups for the road when the front desk agent offered bottled water. We had a nice, comfortable stay and I’d definitely come back.

We came into town for a family reunion, and most of our group stayed at the hotel. Our suites were spacious and clean, and the hotel was spotless. Breakfast was decent, and the staff were courteous, greeting us whenever we came or went. I’d highly recommend it.
