Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast

Brian did not disappoint. That was the best quiche I've ever had. There were baked pastries out all day, and he was prompt, polite, funny, and wonderful. The place is gorgeous, and the bed and sheets were the softest I've ever slept in. I travel twice a month. We stayed in the Philadelphia room on the first floor, and everything about it was darling. The walk-in shower was great, and there was a heater and a fan. We came for a foodie weekend and wanted to be near Reading Terminal Market, which was 15 minutes away, and have breakfast too. This was our first B&B, and I can only hope others live up to it. We hope to return every fall for a food trip. The neighborhood and drive up were gorgeous with the changing colors. My pictures don't do it justice. I was so excited I took some to show my friends.

Brian was fabulous and adjusted breakfast for our vegan diet. We had tableside service on the porch and patio, plus desserts and tea available 24/7. It's the cutest spot, right on Drexel and UPenn campuses, and an easy walk to the train. What a great place, highly recommend.

Brian made our stay special, and his breakfasts were perfect every morning. He was so kind and clearly takes real pride in his work. We’ll be back soon, and he’s a big reason why. Adelaide was a lovely bonus too, with her tarot readings. The Cornerstone has beautiful stained glass and so much charm, plus plenty of parking. We could walk to museums and the heart of Philadelphia. I can’t recommend it enough, five stars all around.

It was hard to leave Brian, Anna, Adelaide, and Yawana. They made the place feel like home, so heading out felt more like leaving for a trip than wrapping one up. The rooms and grounds were lovely, and surprisingly peaceful for downtown Philly, but the personal attention is what made our short vacation so enjoyable. Brian checked that we liked breakfast, chatted with us about dinner plans and what we hoped to do each day, and gave us his thoughts on our restaurant choices. He’s also a terrific photographer, even if he credited his phone and played it down. We felt welcome and looked after from the moment Brian greeted us.
