We came Friday night, 3/6/26, to see JoKoy comedian at Xfinity arena. The hotel is right off the highway, but the neighborhood didn’t feel safe. There are three hotels nearby, Extended stays of America and sonesta select among them, and lots of weird, sketchy people walking around. It was noisy outside. There was even a man in a suit outside who looked like a security guard. We stayed one night at Embassy suites. We were greeted warmly and the service was great. Parking was $29.99 a night. The hotel is very old and dated, but my room was spic and span clean. I always bring cleaning supplies, and everything was clean, clean. Our side was quiet; the other side of the hotel was a different story. We travel a lot and usually choose embassy suites by hilton for the clean rooms and excellent breakfast. We were disappointed Saturday morning when the omelette station was closed. A worker said they didn’t have enough staff. They still had waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, yogurt, a bread station, grits, danishes, and different juices. I also got the feeling that part of the hotel was serving as a shelter for families in need. Toward the right side, at least 15-20 kids were running around without shoes as if they were at home. Their parents were yelling, there was a lot of coming and going, and the kids were loud and having a recreational time at 9 a.m. The hotel served its purpose for one night, but I wouldn’t stay again.
The other staff were helpful, but Judy Soman, the Manager, ignored emails and responded with a disrespectful sense of humor. An exterminator identified the bug I found crawling on the bed in room 513 as a bed bug. I killed it and took photos. My family stayed on January 31st 2026, and my clothes had been on the bed, but I still haven't received reimbursement for them. After I called the owner, the hotel reluctantly returned the points and money for our one night. Judy Soman denied that it was a bed bug and wasn't helpful. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
I was stuck in the winter storms and booked this place at the last minute. I panicked when they couldn't find my reservation at check-in, then realized I'd accidentally booked for February, a whole month later. I thought I was out of luck, but DeWan, I think that was his name, was incredibly helpful and stylish, and got me a room. I had to extend my stay three times. Patricia, Judy, and the rest of the front desk team were kind and understanding each time, and kept me in the same room. It was a great place to spend four days working. The room was spacious and clean, with a big desk and comfortable chair, strong water pressure, and a comfy bed. I hope I don't get stranded in Philly for days again, but if I do, I'd come back here. Fantastic stay, and I'd absolutely recommend it.
We were in a bind at Philadelphia airport after midnight with children and elderly parents, and needed somewhere for the family to stay. Online booking defaults to the next day at that hour, so I called the hotel's local number. A third-party answering service picked up. My husband and I were calling hotels at the same time because rooms were scarce, and I wanted to find out about a shuttle before booking. The person insisted on taking my card and promised it wouldn't be charged until check-in, then transferred me to the front desk. No one answered, even after a long wait, so I hung up. Only later did I notice the email confirmation. The booking had gone through, and the fine print said cancellations weren't allowed within roughly three days, though I can't remember the exact wording. My husband had arranged another hotel around the same time, and I mistakenly trusted the dispatcher when he said we wouldn't be charged if we didn't check in. We were charged for both rooms, more than $500 total, and neither the front office nor corporate would refund us. We never stayed, so the rooms didn't need to be cleaned. Strict cancellation rules may be the policy, but this is what they meant for us in a real emergency. Using an international answering service to book after hours risks customers being told whatever will close the sale, while the hotel won't stand behind what they were told. We even stayed at another Hilton-owned brand, but apparently that didn't help our case. It's an unfair way to do business.
The hotel itself is decent, but I didn't feel safe leaving my car in its paid, gated airport parking lot. Someone tried to steal it, smashed the sunroof, and it seemed like it could have been an inside job. There were no cameras. Our spot was less than 25 steps from the front door, yet a worker reportedly told police he'd seen a truck by our car and heard the alarm. No report was made to the front desk, and the hotel turned a blind eye. That negligence cost me $500 in fees. This was supposed to be a getaway for my husband and me, but instead I paid more because of the lack of safety and accountability. They can put on happy hour, but can't keep a car safe when guests pay to park? Installing cameras seems like a basic expense. Without footage, even a person just 25 steps outside the hotel is unsafe. The activity was very suspicious.
