I don’t recommend this place. It’s dirty, the staff are rude, and the prices are outrageous. The pricing policy is what finally made me write this. On Tuesday 4/14/26 around 12:30 pm, my boyfriend and I arrived at the Red Carpet Inn to get out of the early heat and spend some time together, and asked for a king room for one night. They quoted us $165. I’d checked online earlier that morning and the highest price I saw for this hotel was $115, which already seemed too much for a two-star motel on the Blvd. When I asked why the quote was higher, the front desk clerk/owner said there was a $30 early check-in fee because it was before 3 pm. I’ve heard people mention fees like this and seen them in the fine print on booking sites, but I’d never had a hotel try to charge me one before, and I was outraged. That was on top of what felt like an overcharge for a shabby room with one mediocre bed, a small fridge, and a dirty microwave that smelled of weed and cat urine. No thanks. I’d stayed there before and know you usually get what you pay for, but $165 was too much for me. When I challenged the extra charges, the front desk staff tried to start an almost screaming match. The people working there were rude, as if they looked down on customers. It’s an overpriced, dirty, sleazy two-star motel. The photo I added shows the advertised Google price for the same room on the day I tried to rent it. Smh.

We left that night and drove another 20 minutes to Marriot. The room here was filthy, with hair everywhere, mold, and a dirty towel. The door lock didn't work, and the other back door wouldn't lock properly either. After arriving late from a long drive from Boston, the place felt sketchy and I didn't feel safe. There was armed security in the lobby, and the reception was behind glass. I couldn't tell if it was bulletproof.

The rooms were dated but clean, and the staff were friendly when I needed a room change, had a broken microwave, or needed replacement keys after losing about ten of them. Housekeeping was also very nice and quick to help with requests. I've stayed at the rate carpet several times over the past couple of months, including one stay of more than a month. It works well for getting around Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Center City, with easy access to the PA turnpike and 95. Parx Casino, Franklin Mills Mall, Sesame Place, and a skating rink right next door are nearby. The rink is great for young adults, though I wouldn't really call the hotel kid friendly. A lot of guests seem to be adults looking for a short getaway or weekend hideout.

The room was fairly large, and there's a skating rink across the street. I was staying at Red Carpet while moving apartments, but saw a roach on the second night. The two housekeepers were rude and told me, “no pay no stay” as I was on my way to extend my stay. It's a cheap place, so I guess you get what you pay for.

The building and rooms smell awful, like mold and stale, musty air. I stayed here before and that visit was decent, but now you can't open the windows or balcony door, so the rating drops. The windows and balcony are barred, and nobody warns you when booking. You only find out from a sign at check-in.
