Housekeeping kept the dated hotel clean, and it was adequate for a night, but my five-night stay was frustrating. I didn’t need room service. The owner needs to change his attitude toward the people paying his bills. I’m sure this will get the usual passive “thanks” reply that comes with all the reviews. I told him I might stay longer than my original three days. When he called me to the office, the price had gone up. He got upset that I used points to book two more days and threatened that I should leave and check back in after three. I asked how he felt about being so rude and got a dead stare. The reviews saying the owner is nice are spot on, he’s probably one of the rudest, most inconsiderate people alive.

Once I saw a security camera nearby, I felt more comfortable in the room, and I slept well without much noise from outside. The room was about what I expected, with definite pros and cons, but the best hot shower I’ve ever had in a hotel won me over. It’s a well-kept motel with adequate customer service and breakfast.

The staff were kind and regularly checked whether everything was okay or I needed anything. Check-in went smoothly. The motel was good value, nothing exciting, but definitely not the worst. I stayed 11 nights for work. The location was great, near downtown, places to eat and shop, and easy to get around on foot. The sunsets from the front balcony were beautiful. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but I could hear neighbors talking. The AC fan couldn’t be set to stay on when it wasn’t heating or cooling, so I used my radio to cover the noise. I killed a handful of spiders during the stay and rolled a towel under the door because of its sizable gap and poor weather stripping. I didn’t see other bugs in my room, and a nearby room was being treated for something, so they seem to address issues when they come up. There’s no laundry on site for longer stays. I had to go to the laundry in town on the square, the car wash for quarters, and DG for detergent. Breakfast was very basic, oatmeal, waffles, cereal, bananas, and muffins. It did the job, and I appreciated being able to eat cereal and take a snack for later.

The people running the hotel were so nice. Our room was spotless and looked just like the pictures. The beds and shower were great, and it was really quiet. We were pleasantly surprised, and breakfast the next morning included a really good waffle.

I’ve stayed at lots of hotels, and the people here were so rude. One day I lost my key and the guy made a big deal of it, like he thought I’d done it on purpose. My biggest pet peeve is putting a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, only for them to go in and remove it anyway. There’s more, but that’s all I can say. If you have nowhere else, whatever, but if you have the chance, stay somewhere else.
