Spinneys Guesthouse & Beach Cottages

We stayed two nights, and this place is super cute, with a delicious restaurant and really friendly staff. I’m only giving the location a 3 because it’s 40 minutes from the main road. Going anywhere to explore meant a drive. We went to bay harbor one day and booth bay the next, and those drives back were tough.

Spinney’s is a lovely place that really feels like coastal Maine. Seals swim just feet from shore, and the bird watching is incredible. The hotel and restaurant are comfy and quaint, not posh, which wasn’t what we were after. Hopefully we get the chance to come back.

We had a girls’ weekend in Cottage 1/Seaside. It’s rustic, but clean, with comfortable beds and everything we needed. The view from right on the beach was amazing. A couple of curtains were missing in the bedroom and bathroom, so we hung towels for privacy when we needed it. It was early May, and I suspect that’ll be taken care of. My one disappointment was that two portable saunas were parked in front of our cabin, partly blocking the view. They seem popular, and I don’t have a problem with them otherwise. It was the last weekend they were supposed to be there. I still give the stay a 10/10 and would definitely return. We also had a nice lunch at Spinney's Restaurant.

The newly renovated guesthouse is right beside the beach, and the rooms were clean, well appointed, and very tidy. Staff were friendly. There’s no cooking equipment, but there is a microwave and toaster oven for heating food, and a restaurant next door.
