Days Inn by Wyndham Phoenix North

There’s a Waffle House and a Denny’s right next door, with a Circle K half a block away. The location is good, just off the highway. The property itself is so-so. It’s okay for a night if you’re only coming in to sleep and leaving in the morning. It’s not bad, just not anything special.

The rooms are spacious, and the area is convenient, with plenty of restaurants and good foot traffic nearby. Breakfast is very limited, with no eggs or meat. The real problem for me was the thin walls: I could clearly hear snoring and other noise from neighboring rooms, which was especially frustrating during quiet hours.

I paid $139 for a room that wasn’t clean, and the way management handled my concerns was just as disappointing. I checked out around 10:00 AM, showed the manager photos, and asked for a refund. They dismissed me and insisted the stains weren’t blood. Another manager joined in, and both were rude and unhelpful. I hope they improve the cleaning and the way they respond to guests. We’d arrived around 1:30 AM after a five-hour drive for a three-night reservation. The front desk employee was polite and helpful, but the room was extremely dirty. The sheets had what appeared to be blood stains, and there were stains on the shower curtain. The side chair and air conditioner were visibly dirty too. I went back to the desk around 2:00 AM, but the employee said he couldn’t resolve it then and told me to speak with the manager at 7:00 AM. We didn’t feel comfortable staying, couldn’t sleep, and left.

The property staff were very nice, and the room had recently been remodeled. The bedroom was nice, and the HVAC worked very well. The mattress and pillows were hard, though, and the breakfast was lousy. There were many homeless people around the parking lot, so management needs security at night. Corporate also sends way too many texts and messages. I replied about a broken hair dryer, but the message never made it to the front desk.
