Extended Stay America Phoenix Midtown

Natalie was the one good thing about this hotel. Whenever she was available, she was pleasant, helpful, and had a sunny smile. But there was often nobody at the desk because only one person was working, so getting help wasn’t always possible. The room was poorly equipped for two people: just one chair at the table and work area, no extra lamps, and a “kitchen” without utensils. We had to ask for those things, and for more towels, though they did bring extra towels when we asked. Aside from the main entrance, no other doors would open with our key cards. We were told to call the desk if we needed anything, but the room phone didn’t work, so we had to use a cell phone. That felt unprofessional. We’ll never stay at another of your hotels. You get what you pay for, and this was barely worth the low price. We were ashamed to tell people where we were staying.

My sister suggested this hotel because she’d stayed here while taking our mother to a hospital procedure. I was in the area for the same reason, and I’m glad I followed her recommendation. The rooms were clean and had basically any amenity I might need, but the staff were the best part. Both the day and night teams were amazing. When I needed to extend my stay again and again while my mother was in the hospital, they went out of their way to help. They followed my mom’s recovery and sent well wishes, then celebrated with me when she was finally released. I’ll definitely stay here again.

We felt safe here and really enjoyed having a two-week home away from home while our daughter received medical treatment nearby. The staff were wonderful and kind whenever they were around. It’s a budget-friendly place with a pool for relaxing, but don’t count on extras. I had to buy silverware, plates, and bowls, couldn’t cook during the stay, and there wasn’t a dishwasher. We’ve stayed in suite hotels for medical visits many times and usually find some amenities, but this room was bare bones. The room wasn’t nearly as large as the pictures suggested, and when the sofa bed was open it took over the whole living room. Having two full-sized beds was incredibly inconvenient. Two queens would have made more sense. We also had a steady stream of caterpillars in our room, especially in the evenings. There was rarely anyone at the front desk, and our room phone didn’t work, so we couldn’t report the pests properly. Bugs and all, it was still a nice place to stay for those two weeks.

The rooms are decent and definitely worth the price, and it’s a pretty good spot near downtown. What really made our stay better was knowing the staff would help if we needed anything. The front desk team were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Irina. We needed two extra sets of sheets and pillows for our group, and Irina sorted it out with a smile and no fuss.
