E-Z 8 Motel Phoenix Airporter

I checked in this evening and the room smelled awful, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking. The curtains weren’t hanging properly from their hooks, and the towels were damp. The front desk person let me exchange the towels. At least the bathroom is clean. The reply below was posted because my comment is under my son’s name. I’m Judy, and if you check your records, you’ll see I was there.

At check-in I found out my reservation had been canceled because they couldn’t charge my card early, even though I was meant to pay when I arrived and wasn’t offered a way to pay at booking. The same thing had just happened to the man before me. They were sold out, so we were out of luck. They said they’d called, but there was no voicemail. Maybe they weren’t trying to cancel lower-rate bookings so they could charge more for the rooms, but it sure felt that way.

The rooms were pretty big and not filthy, though definitely not hospital-clean. Staff were somewhat grumpy, and there’s no flexibility on checkout time. The pool and hot tub were a nice surprise. It’s a very inexpensive hotel where you get a little more value than you pay for. If you need a cheap place near the airport, it’s the best price I can think of for the money.

Our Airbnb wasn’t usable, so we turned up here at 10:30 on a Saturday night hoping for help. They had one room left, a smoking room, and my expectations were low. The receptionist patiently showed it to us, and it was fine for what we needed. The sheets were clean and the bathroom worked. The electrical outlets were in rough shape, but the receptionist’s positive, professional manner convinced us to take the room. It saved us.
