Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix North Happy Valley

For a Christmas trip with my wife, this property was top notch, a 10 out of 10. The food was really tasty, the pool and jacuzzi stayed open late, and the beds were more comfortable than I'd expect at a Hilton Garden Inn. In this economy, it's nice to find a hotel that doesn't cut corners or nickel and dime guests. Kristie at the bar and Michael at the front desk made the stay especially great. If you're looking for somewhere in north Phoenix, have a bite with Kristie and let Michael check you in.

The staff were nice, and the standard hotel room was decent. It was otherwise clean and quiet, though the bathtub needed caulking. The elevator buttons on my floor and inside the elevator could have used a cleaning. I also would have liked more of a garden feel. Some Garden Inns have that, but this one doesn't.

The rooms can be noisy when someone is next door. The man beside us was talking so loudly on the phone that I could hear the other person, maybe he had it on speaker. Still, we'll come back. It's a clean, fresh basic hotel and good value for the price, with no worn carpet or scuffed surfaces. Breakfast is better than a typical continental spread. Glenda greeted us each morning at breakfast. She's friendly and pleasant, and made us feel like she actually enjoys her job. A smiling, happy person serving you makes a real difference compared with someone just saying the required “Good morning.”

An enjoyable stay at the Hilton garden inn happy valley. The rooms were comfy and clean, and there's a nice pool and gym. Breakfast wasn't complimentary, though you could get coffee in the morning. Plenty of places in the lobby to sit and relax with friends.
