Residence Inn Phoenix North Happy Valley

Our room had two queen beds and a pull-out couch, with plenty of space. It also had a fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and dishes, everything needed for a comfortable stay. Outside, there are nice seating areas, a fire pit, and a barbecue area beside the pool. The hotel is near shopping and plenty of places to eat. Excellent place to stay.

The rooms were clean, and Hilton beds are always so comfortable. We love that they have rooms big enough for families and include breakfast, which makes travel with kids easier. Breakfast itself was disappointing on two of the mornings. The older man working on the 26th was wonderful, keeping everything tidy and stocked, but the next two days weren’t pleasant. The same woman, I think, didn’t come out to clean or replenish things either day. On the 27th and 28th I had to ask the desk lady to refill the coffee. Guests opened the cupboards for more creamer and restocked the counter themselves. The breakfast worker only appeared at 9 to close the curtain, even though the sign said breakfast stayed open until 10 on weekends and holidays. On Thanksgiving my husband went for a run and came back to find it closed at 9, so he couldn’t eat. As a guest tried to grab something, she pulled the curtain while looking at her watch. A special thank you to the older gentleman from the 26th. I wish I’d gotten his name.

I flew from Taiwan to PHX for a very short, one-week business trip and really enjoyed my stay in Room 220. The hotel is very new, and everywhere was exceptionally clean. The housekeeper also cleaned Room 220 very thoroughly, which I truly appreciated. I was very satisfied with the front desk service from EVA and Josh. Gina, at the front desk in the morning, has a very charming smile. I like her smile. I hope I can stay in the same room type as Room 220 on my next business trip to PHX.

The newer building was clean and modern, and the staff, especially at the front desk and in room maintenance, were friendly and accommodating. But management fell short during our stay with a 14u youth ice hockey team. We could have been placed together in one area so parents, players, and coaches stayed near each other; instead, our rooms were spread over five floors. When we asked to use a meeting room briefly, they said yes, for an extra $200. We had nearly 20 rooms for two nights, and our season has another two or three trips to the area. Maybe we should look elsewhere. The managers and booking staff could have handled this better.
