The bed was comfortable, and my room had a kitchenette. The front desk agent was super nice, though I had to call out a few times before anyone came to help. My first refrigerator didn’t work, but they replaced it promptly. The heater in room 106 was broken, I found a bug, and the bathroom outlet didn’t work, so I had to dry and straighten my hair at the kitchen counter. The location is far from places, including spring training facilities, and an Uber from the airport cost $37. After I saw the bug, I left after one night instead of staying the planned five days. I’m waiting on refunds now.

I was unsure about the neighborhood at first, but the half-night stay at HomeTowne Studios Phoenix – Dunlap Ave was quiet and relaxing. The room wasn’t as upscale as a Hilton, but it worked fine for what I needed. The staff were straightforward about the cable not working, which I appreciated. Booking was easy, and I could even reserve a room that same night, unlike several nearby motels that won’t take short-notice bookings. It turned out to be a practical and comfortable option for a brief stay.

On the last night, the water went out for about an hour. I had sheets in the laundry, and because there was no water I had to pay twice to get them cleaned. They don’t provide replacements. Getting clean towels or sheets was difficult too. I was told I had to hand in the dirty ones, but when I did, there weren’t any clean ones, so I had to wash mine. Room service to make the beds and sweep and mop wasn’t available more than once every two weeks. There were roaches, and the place was very dirty and outdated. The drawers wouldn’t close, the fridge and ripped chair were beat up, and the kitchen drawers were dirty. Very disappointing. Don’t stay here.

I was told the manager would call after I contacted the front desk about my $100 deposit, but she never got back to me. They said there was smoke in the room and kept the money, even though I don’t smoke and I’m heavily pregnant. The TVs didn’t work, the refrigerator wouldn’t get cold, and the rooms were filthy, with stains on the toilets, roaches everywhere, and dog hair and dirt on sheets that looked unwashed. This place is a total scam. Don’t go here.
