After we complained twice, they moved us to another room, which was somewhat better. The iron was missing there, and the kitchen had only one fork, one spoon, and so on, though it wasn’t really somewhere you’d want to cook. The lobby coffee and small kitchen area are no longer available. Furniture, mattresses, and TVs were left standing around everywhere. There were little bugs on the first room’s floor, mold on the dishes in the cabinet, a filthy sofa, and a generally very dirty kitchen. Inside, the hotel smelled of weed and the hallways were musty. Apparently, one staff member even smoked a joint with a guest. In the new room’s bathroom there was mold and what looked like water damage, and the toilet seat was broken.

By day four, I found bags of vomit on the hallway floor early in the morning. The elevator inspection was still from the previous hotel, four years ago. That says something about how much they seem to care, since inspections are usually yearly. I also still can’t figure out why there were seven separate fire alarms in my room. The first night was bizarre. Booking details didn’t come through until 8:30 PM, and I had to call more than once. We’d already been in the car for about 12 to 16 hours, so eventually I told them I’d fall asleep in the parking lot. The hallways smelled of perfume with a slight hint of feces or spice. The door had a big dent and missing paint, wiggled in its frame, and seemed easy to open with a credit card. The windows opened all the way with no screens, even though we were on the third floor. Outlets had no covers, and the bed was pressed against one that sparked. The lobby was shut at night, but a broom handle wedged in its door seemed to let you open it by shaking the door. The walls were thin enough to hear and feel people moving in the next room. People blasted music in the parking lot at 2 AM, then cops came to shut it down. I honestly wondered if whoever booked the place for us was playing a prank. It was that bad, but it made my friend and me laugh. After the first few days, I got used to the oddities. The beds were comfortable, everything in the room worked, and a UV light didn’t reveal anything. The couch stains turned out to look like coffee or food, and for the price it wasn’t a bad place to sleep. It was better than Motel 6, though plenty of road dogs have stayed in worse. The location is central, with most things within 20 minutes. We had seven more days to go after that first night. Day two was more of the same, then by day three it seemed okay, just an odd place that gave you a dependable bed. Still, the elevator inspection date and the hole in the ground partly hidden by a plant made me wonder about upkeep.

I hope the outstanding payment is addressed promptly and responsibly. In my work with Abrar Rabbi, I experienced repeated payment delays and financial commitments that weren’t met. I was formally told my outstanding payment would be cleared on December 1, 2024, but that hasn’t happened. I followed up and sent reminders several times, and it remains unresolved, causing considerable financial stress and uncertainty. Professional leadership calls for transparency, accountability, and honoring compensation agreements. Based on my experience, I’d advise anyone considering a professional arrangement to document payment terms clearly and proceed cautiously if commitments aren’t met as agreed.

The artwork is pretty unique, and we heard other guests mention unwelcome six-legged visitors. The shower has several settings, including two massage modes, though I wished the water got hotter. There’s a huge fridge for a hotel, plus a garbage disposal and small stove if you want to cook. It works more like an Airbnb, with no front desk and a door code sent to you. Decent stay overall.

The rooms were roomy, and we didn’t have trouble with noise. It’s a great location, and the price was good for the area. The front desk has customer service from 9 to 5. When you book, they send you a room code, and the woman working there was sweet.
