The desk staff were fine and courteous, and the WiFi was very good. Still, I wouldn’t stay again. The rooms were dated and not appealing, and there were no towels, soap, or shampoo, so I had to ask for those basics. People were hollering in the parking area late at night. The area around the hotel felt bad, with vagrants and homeless people around.

The first night, a large cockroach came into the bathroom, and more insects showed up after that. My friend and I got insect bites. The sheets or comforter and mattress were dirty, the bathroom window was broken, and the TV connection was bad. I’m deaf and was a woman alone in the room, so it didn’t feel safe. I asked for a room change or for the window to be fixed, but the rude manager didn’t care and neither thing was done. Don’t stay there.

The night staff member was friendly, and the lobby smelled clean and fresh. Our room was dirty and musty, though. The deadbolt latch was broken, the sheets were torn, and there were no towels. A two-bed room for my husband, daughter, and me only had two pillows, so I was glad I’d packed towels. At $53.53, I guess you get what you pay for. It’s now called Airport Inn instead of Roadway Inn, which made it hard to find because the sign had changed but the online name hadn’t.

I slept fine and didn’t hear any strange noises outside. The room had a mouse trap and looked unfinished, almost like an abandoned renovation. Given the very bad reviews, I was relieved not to find bed bugs, a broken bathroom window, or cockroaches. The streets outside definitely didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t stay longer than a night.

The room was filthy, with dirty walls and carpet, and cockroaches on the bathroom floor, walls, and windowsill. The air conditioner had broken dials, so we couldn’t tell whether it was on vent or heat, and the old unit wouldn’t cool the room. By 11 p.m. it was sweltering, so we left and didn’t spend the night. We’d checked in before going to an evening ballgame, but when we came back, we found the property and neighborhood very undesirable. There were transient people around the rooms and parking lot, and it seemed people lived there and in the motel across the street. Don’t even consider this nightmare. It’s barely a step above a cardboard box under a bridge.
