Springhill Suites By Marriott Phoenix Downtown

The location felt a little sketchy, but we felt safe, and getting to the airport by car was super easy. The front desk clerk was great. We were checking out really early, and they offered to get us fruit from the breakfast line. The rooms were okay, if a little dated. The beds need replacing, with a big dip in both mattresses. The shower was decent. I’d stay here again if I needed to.

The room worked perfectly for several nights and felt like a small studio apartment, with a kitchenette, microwave, and fridge. The desk and couch were comfortable for both working and relaxing, and the gym had enough equipment for a good workout. We also loved the extra space and amenities, which made it feel homey. Breakfast at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Phoenix Downtown was fantastic, with lots of choices. I’d highly recommend it for longer stays or anyone wanting a bit more of a home-like feel.

The loud traffic was the main issue. I was on the sixth floor facing E Van Buren St, and a gap between the sliding window panels let a lot of noise into the room. I don’t think I’d have slept much without earplugs. The room layout was odd too, with just a small wall-mounted TV facing the bed and almost blocking the bathroom entrance. Still, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, everything I needed was there, the staff were friendly, breakfast was really good, and the location was great. I’d consider staying again, but only in a room on the north side. I was there for two nights during the week.

We picked this hotel because it was budget-friendly, which left us more money to explore the city. It’s not especially luxurious, but it’s a good value for the price, with a central location just three blocks from trendy restaurants and nightlife. The free airport shuttle was handy, since the airport is only minutes away. My kids enjoyed the coffee and cocoa bar, and I appreciated the excellent recommendations staff gave for them. The service stood out throughout our stay. Staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating, and I had positive interactions with them every day. I’d happily recommend the hotel and stay again.
