Security was another serious problem during my time owning a condo here. Storage units were repeatedly broken into and belongings stolen, which is hard to accept in a gated community with such high HOA fees. Those fees also didn’t feel justified by the value provided: the gym was large but had outdated equipment, and amenities weren’t kept to the standard the monthly dues suggest. I sold my condo, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The construction quality was unacceptable for the price, with paper-thin walls. You could hear full phone calls next door, constant footsteps overhead, and ordinary patio activity beside the master bedrooms. There was basically no sound insulation or privacy. The place looked like a quiet, retirement-style community, but often felt tense and uncomfortable. The pool and other shared spaces could be chaotic and disruptive, and didn’t feel appropriate for families. Living here took too much of my time, energy, and money. Potential buyers should think carefully about the build quality, HOA value, and security issues before investing.

The pool area is often poorly controlled. On several visits, I saw groups drinking heavily, acting loud and disruptive, and making the space feel unwelcoming. It didn’t feel safe or respectful, even though the pool should be for all residents. The amenities and their management are disappointing, and the high monthly HOA fees don’t make sense given the current conditions. I’ve looked after my grandfather’s condo here for two years, stopping by regularly to maintain it and check that everything works. I also read the HOA emails sent to owners. From what I’ve experienced and what those emails keep reporting, the community has noticeably declined. There are ongoing safety problems, including theft and repeated incidents reported directly to owners. I’ll attach examples of those emails. For what residents pay, the community should be secure, well maintained, and properly managed, but that isn’t what I see. Between the security concerns, lack of enforcement, worsening atmosphere, and unjustifiably high fees, it’s hard to recommend. Management, rule enforcement, and overall community standards need serious improvement.

I’m concerned that Management and/or the Board don’t seem to care about residents’ security. On 7/21/22, there was a large Police presence on the property, including a Helicopter circling above the PG area for several minutes. Police later detained several juveniles, and their parents picked them up. I posted about it, including pictures, on the Toscana Facebook page, but the post was deleted without any response. The HOA sent no communication at all. What happened on the property that required that kind of Police response? I guess we’ll see when the FOIA is processed. It’s not a good look for the HOA. Aside from that, it’s a great place to live, with a nice Resort setting, great pools, and a well-kept BBQ area. The PG Pool deck needs resurfacing. It’s been in bad shape and is getting worse, so hopefully that gets addressed.

The community lifestyle events are a great way to meet people when you’re new to the area. They’re amazing! Find Rachel in the HOA and she’ll help you 😄

My clients love living at Toscana at Desert Ridge. They like the resort atmosphere and having restaurants and shops at High Street and Desert Ridge Market Place nearby. The community offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos with stainless steel appliances, high ceilings, and gorgeous views. There are resort-style amenities, secure underground parking with elevators, a 24-hour guard at the gate, concierge service, several heated pools, a spa with waterfall and fire features, a large clubhouse, a workout center, and more. We love Toscana!
