The location was handy for our event, less than a 20-minute drive for the days we needed, and the rates were cheap. That was about the only upside. We arrived Thursday around 1 pm and used the login details sent to us to get into the building and room. The entrance itself was fine, though the dumpster in the parking lot was overflowing. We had reserved a room with two queen beds for three people. Instead, there was one double bed and an old 1970s couch that did not pull out. Luckily, we'd brought an air mattress. The smoke detector looked broken, and the bathroom door and surrounding molding were busted from the inside out. The door wouldn't latch, so there was no privacy on the toilet or in the shower. There were no towels anywhere. We found someone we thought was cleaning rooms and asked; he said he'd take care of it. Hours later, still no towels. We called the listed number repeatedly during our Thursday-to-Sunday stay, never saw another employee, and nobody brought any. The person answering kept saying no one was available to help. We were only there to sleep, thankfully, but lesson learned. I'd give it zero if I could.
The price seemed fair, and the location was ideal for visiting family just a few minutes away. Staff were very nice and helpful whenever we spoke with them. The room had clean bedding and the basic necessities, plus a good-sized refrigerator. There's no vending, so stop for anything you need before arriving. The room itself needs work. The bathroom could use a major overhaul, and the staff said updates were coming soon. The bathtub was slippery and needs gripper tape or something similar. The carpet should be replaced too.
I live about 1.5 miles away and have never been inside this hotel. After seeing the poor reviews, I searched online and found that the hotel's website seems to have been hijacked by someone or some organization outside the US. It doesn't give the place a good look or feeling.
I came to the building feeling pretty creeped out, but the receptionist was great and really helpful. For the price, I felt I got more than I paid for, and I'd definitely come back. The beds were very comfortable and clean, including the pillows. The sink was nice, the water pressure was great, and the AC worked wonders. I honestly don't have any complaints about those things. The room wasn't bad, but the walls were kind of, maybe very, dirty and could use paint. The bathroom needs a repair, and the flooring or carpet could be fixed too. Thanks French Creek.
I won't stay again. They said the beds were king size, but they were only doubles. I also paid an extra $50 for cleaning, yet the rooms were dirty. There was no ice or refrigerator, and we got only one washcloth.
