Rivera Inn & Suites Motel Pico Rivera

This feels like my home away from home. The people here helped me when nobody else would. I’m not rating them just based on my own experiences, though. If others got the chance to know these people, they’d see that a clean room is just an extra perk.

I still haven’t received my deposit back. They were overbooked, delayed my check-in, tried to charge extra for the only room they had, never called with the promised update, and rushed me out the next morning. I showed up around 10 PM and was told my room wasn’t ready because it was still being cleaned. Then I was offered a Jacuzzi room for an added charge. That’s not my problem, it’s poor management. They said they’d call in 30 minutes when my room was ready, but they didn’t, so I had to walk back to get the room I’d already paid for. At 10:55 AM the next morning, they called to say checkout was now. They couldn’t get me in on time, but were quick to kick me out. Make it make sense. Keeping my money after all that feels shady.

I paid $105 for Friday and Saturday, and it felt overpriced. The floorboards were sticky underfoot, and I killed a cockroach during my stay. The shower only got warm, not hot, the light above the sink was out, and the bed’s top blanket had lots of burn marks and holes.

The room was cozy and smelled clean, and the bed was comfortable. Check-in was simple, with great customer service. It’s in a convenient spot near a bank, restaurants, and a supermarket. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.
