HeartSong Lodge & Resort

Our room was clean and the beds were so comfortable that we slept great each night. The food was delicious and had enough choices to make meals easy for everyone. We also had a lot of fun in the family-friendly area, a nice place to relax and spend time together. We’d definitely stay here again.

The cleanliness was top tier. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where I saw staff scrubbing the balconies while cleaning, which was such a nice detail. My daughter and I had a spacious room with two queen beds and a dormer bed a few days before Valentines. At the front desk they even sent up a birthday card with a pin for me. We met general manager Jack, who was walking around and chatting with both guests and staff. Everyone we encountered was amazing, from the front desk to the songbird market. The valet attendants were polite and quick, and the morning hot tub was so relaxing in the slightly chilly weather. Thank you for a wonderful stay at the Heartsong Resort.

We had a lovely time, and there’s a lot to like about Dollywood and the hotel. But we never went back to their main restaurant for the rest of the trip after one waiter, Dan I think, insisted there was a strict card requirement for every drink, period. No one mentioned this at check-in or when we picked up tickets. He was doing his job, but didn’t budge or suggest any way to work around it, and handled it poorly. My wife had locked her purse in the room safe and was happily walking around without it, so that rule spoiled what had been a wonderful experience. This was the in between week for Dollywood’s spring and summer configurations.

The room and grounds were lovely, but I expected the same hospitality we’ve had at Dreammore Resort, where we’ve often stayed since 2018. At check-in there, someone usually meets you by the car, asks if you’re checking in, and gets a luggage cart. At HeartSong, nobody asked if we needed help. I thought we might need to get a personal cart inside, but the older bearded man out front said those were only for people needing assistance. He then asked the couple behind me if they needed help and started assisting them. We got most things onto one personal cart, but before we’d finished unloading and returned it, he asked my dad to move the van. Dad asked if he could return the cart first. The thermostats are locked at 67 degrees and don’t go lower, unlike Dreammore; my parents found that uncomfortable. It actually wouldn’t go below 68, and they gave us a small credit for that, which we appreciated. I’d hoped to show my parents it was as good as Dreammore, but I think the service did the opposite.
