Mountain Blessings

My best friend booked a cabin at mountain blessings with colonial properties as a birthday gift. It had a lovely, homey outdoor look, and the only amenity she asked for was a hot tub. One was there, but the water made it clear it hadn’t been cleaned or checked in quite some time. When we tried to switch it on, there was no sign of power. We called the office just minutes after check-in. They couldn’t say when anyone would come. They sent a friendly neighbor who doesn’t work for them to check the breaker, but he found no power to the tub and couldn’t fix it. He called them and asked them to send a repair person, but again they gave us no timeframe. We spent the whole first day dealing with it and missed our plans because we had to stay there for the repair visit. No one came until around 5/6 pm the next day. The repair person checked everything, but nothing could be done, and we were checking out in the morning. They kept saying they couldn’t do anything because it was the weekend and there was no man present to approve an accommodation. They told us to call at checkout. We asked what they could do, since we really just wanted another night with a working tub. They said that would be way too inconvenient, and offered either 25 for each night the tub didn’t work, 50 dollars total, or another night in the cabin with no working tub. We stayed because the storm was so bad, and the refund wasn’t worth driving in it. They ruined my friend’s birthday and kept the money. They showed no real empathy, and I regret doing business with them. I hope this doesn’t happen to other friends or family trying to celebrate a cherished loved one’s life or gather for the holidays. It was unexpected, unfortunate, disappointing, disheartening, and just plain morally wrong, with no accountability or integrity. I wouldn’t recommend them after this, ever.
