Mountain Vista Inn & Suites

We had nowhere else to go because everything was booked or too far away, so we stayed. The neighbors were loud after our show and smoked a lot of weed. Someone also spit on our car at least four times where it was parked. The room was filthy from the start. We arrived at 7 and waited eight minutes in the lobby before anyone came. There were broken outlets and broken knobs on the other room’s door, some kind of liquid running down the bathroom wall, and a ceiling fan that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The heater blasted hot or cold instead of holding its setting, and it was incredibly loud. There was also a doorstop made of bent, sharp metal, so I covered it to keep my kids from falling on it. The next day I reported everything at the front desk. They apologized but said they couldn’t do anything, and I could barely understand the guy. Don’t stay here unless you’re okay with a dump.

We only booked here because everywhere else was full for fall break. I’d strongly suggest staying somewhere else. The room gets two stars from me because we checked for bedbugs and didn’t find any. The phone agent was friendly and promised a pleasant stay with a nice breakfast, but the in-person service was terrible. Another guest asked about coffee filters and the worker said, without looking up, that they had none and the coffee pot was junk. You can hear everything through the walls. The shower rod was coming loose, the toilet seat was tiny, and there was a black stain on the white sheets. There’s a gap under the door big enough for a rat to walk in with a suitcase. I don’t like writing reviews like this, but I’d want to know.

We were unsure because of the reviews, but ended up loving the room. It was huge, clean, and a great value. The staff were very accommodating, and they made our wedding week and honeymoon stay lovely. We’ll be back.

We got our deposit back, but not the two-night room charge, even though we never stayed there. We went to the front desk for a refund after seeing how moldy, buggy, and nasty the room was, and explaining it wasn’t suitable for our babies. The clerk offered another room, but it was just as bad, so we turned that down too. They told us to file with Expedia. Since we had sat on the bed while discussing what to do as our baby ate chicken nuggets, and left a paper bag in the trash, they accused us of having slept there and used the room. I called to ask for the manager and was told he was in India and didn’t stay there. Don’t stay here. The rooms are bad and management is nonexistent.
