Parkside Resort

Our wedding evening was ruined even though we were a quiet, respectful group of 10 to 15, with lots of young kids and no wild partying. We had turned off our music at 8:30 p.m. and were gathered quietly around the outdoor fireplace. Still, the neighbor blasted music from a large speaker facing the cabin, rode ATVs back and forth, and did everything possible to disrupt the night. Police have been called to this venue multiple times over the same issue, but they say there’s nothing they can do because the county has no noise ordinance. What’s upsetting is that the venue knows about this recurring problem and still takes bookings without explaining how bad it is. There’s a small sign in the neighbor’s yard, but the venue doesn’t point it out or make the situation clear. I can’t imagine how much worse it would be during a typical wedding celebration. It’s shameful that they keep hosting events knowing what can happen. I’d never recommend this venue. Save yourself the stress, heartbreak, and wasted money.

I had planned to get married at the Smoky Mountain Pavilion next October, but unfortunately had to cancel. Amanda was understanding, accommodating, and quick to reply. She even refunded my deposit, which meant a lot. I’m sad we won’t be having the wedding there, but I hope to visit the resort soon and see the cabins and their incredible views.

The drive in was scenic, with lovely mountain views, and the cabins had lots of amenities. There were quite a few dead hornets in the basement, though. They were all dead, but I stepped on a few and found that pretty gross. This only happened on one visit, and I didn’t see any on my next trip. The stay was otherwise great, and I recommend these cabins for a Pigeon Forge vacation.

A permanent resident behind the Smoky Mountain Lodge played gospel sermons loudly from 11 p.m. until the next morning, apparently because of noise from a wedding at the venue. It stopped midmorning, then started again while we were at the pool the following afternoon. Parkside Resorts knows about the neighbor but says it can’t do anything, since there are no noise ordinances in the area. In my opinion, they’re acting in bad faith by not telling renters about this ongoing problem, especially given the cost of the rental. We wouldn’t rent from Parkside Resorts again. I hope people read this before deciding. The neighbor’s signs are in the photo.
