Pin Oak Parkway Inn

Two days into our stay, we were covered in itchy red welts. When we stripped back the sheets, we found bed bugs. We told the front desk and were moved to a smaller room than the one we’d paid for. No apology for the pain, hassle, or inconvenience. I’m handicapped and needed a first floor room, but they put us upstairs on the second floor, with no elevator. That was horrible. I understand some things are outside a hotel’s control, but guest safety is still their responsibility. We booked through a third party because this was the cheapest hotel we found, and now I understand why. I’d spend more for cleanliness, good service, and sanitation. I don’t usually leave reviews or complain, but hope this spares someone else the experience.

The place is old and outdated, though it might have been okay for the price if the room hadn’t had bed bugs. I spotted one on the shower curtain. I checked the bed but didn’t see any then. After falling asleep, I woke up with burning, itchy welts. I checked again and found a bug crawling away from under the pillow. I could barely sleep after that, worried about being bitten all over.

The room was incredible, and I slept so well in the comfortable beds. The staff were awesome, friendly, and helpful. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice view and a good room that won’t break the bank.

The motel advertises breakfast and 12 other amenities that weren’t available when we arrived. Rooms require prepayment, and when we discovered what we believe was a bait and switch, they refused to cancel the reservation or return our money. We feel this place discriminates against service animals and disabled women. The Agoda.com app is promoting this motel and its deception to vacationers.
