River Bend Inn

We booked four rooms as a family. The rooms were awesome, the Indian staff were polite and accommodating, and the American staff need an attitude check. The location is close to everything, and parking was great, but the sewage smell was awful every night. The halls were hot and stuffy, breakfast was plain, the beds were decent, and the pillows were flat. We checked out early after staff objected to our kids acting like kids in the pool at 6:30 pm. Yet the staff’s own kids were in the same pool at 9 pm, louder than ours and keeping other guests up. One front desk attendant was rude to my family, and the manager didn’t step in, just let her speak to guests however she wanted. We would have booked again, but management can’t manage its employees. We were also told kids aren’t allowed on the first floor, so this place definitely isn’t kid-friendly.

At River Bend Inn, they went out of their way to help me and made what could’ve been a very difficult situation simple. Our room was clean and warm, our son had no complaints about the indoor pool, and breakfast was a nice bonus. The location is A+. We had a great stay and will definitely be back.

The bathrooms were disgusting, with a huge crack in the bathtub, stained sheets, and mold on the AC unit. The management was poor too. A woman had a disgusting attitude toward my children and me while they played in the pool, and the manager did nothing when she laughed in our faces after we explained what her worker had done. If your little kids love the pool, do NOT bring them here. This was an absolute waste of money.

I had to move rooms halfway through my stay at River Bend Inn after finding Asian beetles all over the bed, chairs, ceiling, floor, and around the TV. I know seasonal pests can show up at certain times of year, but this many made the room unusable. The front desk said it wasn’t happening in every balcony room, though it was severely common in the hotel. I didn’t want to risk another balcony room, so I moved to one without a balcony. It was fine, but a downgrade from the riverfront balcony room I’d paid for. They wouldn’t refund or adjust the price difference, and when I asked about compensation, they said I could check out if I wanted, but offered no accommodation. The way it was handled was disappointing. A serious pest problem and a lower room type called for a more supportive response. I hope they communicate seasonal problems better and offer fair solutions when guests are affected by things outside their control.
