Tru by Hilton Pigeon Forge, TN

The rooftop area is a big asset, with great views, lots of furniture, and a gas fireplace that made for a lovely atmosphere day or night. We stayed in room 424 and could see the island ferris wheel, which my child is always excited about. Breakfast had lots of choices, and the bacon was crisp and delicious. Everything was extremely clean and well kept, in both the rooms and shared areas, and all the staff were friendly. The indoor pool was chilly, but it's a nice option if your kids insist on swimming. We usually stay at the Home2 next door, but Tru will be our go-to now. It's more bang for your buck if you don't need a full kitchen or more square footage.

The location was fabulous for our conference at the Le Conte center. Rooms are small, and we got good service, but parking passes were limited. I met my daughter there and we needed two passes, but there wasn't a second one available for her car. The hotel was busy because of a large conference. Her car wasn't towed, and the staff were courteous about the parking issue and readily gave us fresh towels when we asked.

Breakfast had different options each day and was good. The location was handy for attractions, museums, and other things to do. Our room had tile floors, which I liked because they felt cleaner and fresher than carpet, and housekeeping did a great job keeping things tidy with service every other day. The whole hotel was clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable, despite some other reviews saying otherwise, and we slept well each night. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. I also appreciated that there was no funky smell anywhere. We'd definitely choose this hotel again.

We stayed in this same hotel in Feb of 2022, and it's changed a lot since then, for the worse. The skydecks furniture is dirty and stained, and the downstairs deck cushions are torn up. In the room, some hooks have come off the wall, and the shower door no longer shuts magnetically, so water gets all over the floor every time. The beds aren't as comfortable as they used to be, and the pillows are completely flat. We're Hilton members and have stayed at several Hilton hotels, but I don't think we'll come back to this one.
