Fort Davidson Hotel

Tim was a fantastic guide as well as a huge help. He picked us up from the Amtrak train at Acadia valley at 4.19am, took us to a cafe for breakfast, then drove us to Elephants Rocks and Johnston Shut-ins, and later to a local restaurant for dinner. We learned so much about the area from him. He even had a spare phone charger for us, which was a lifesaver. We stayed at Fort Davidson hotel in September 2025, and my emails and calls weeks ahead of our trip from the UK were handled professionally. The hotel was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and towels were provided for the pool. We only had one full day and night there, but I’d definitely return. Forever grateful to Tim.

The bed was just right, nice and firm, and the refrigerator and microwave both worked. It’s a very clean, quiet roadside motel, like they used to be in the old days.

Even without a car, our group of three could manage everything through the hotel. Tim took care of our train station pickup and drop-off, drove us to a trailhead for our three-night hike on the Ozark trail, and was waiting when we finished. He also took us to Thee Abbey for dinner and picked us up when we called. On the drives, he shared plenty of local history and information. We stayed one night before the hike and two nights afterward. The room was very clean and better than I expected based on my other motel stays. Everyone was so kind and helpful that it felt more like a B&B than a hotel or motel. Misty the dog was a very good hostess too.

The beds were super comfortable, and the heater was in great condition. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the service was excellent. Thanks for a great night's sleep.
