Beautiful place, really nice.

The day itself was far more stressful than we expected when we booked. The photos and early communication made the venue seem like a good match for the low-stress wedding we wanted, but access restrictions, locked bathrooms, extra charges, and limited room for our party and vendors got in the way. The main problem was getting ready. The bathrooms in the only area where the groom was supposed to prepare were locked, so I drove two hours round trip to a friend's house in Broomfield, then came back in my tuxedo. The only bathroom available was being used by my wife and the bridesmaids. Even though we rented the cabin beside the ceremony site, our wedding party and vendors couldn't use its restrooms. We had to dress our flower girl in the back of a car. We’ve included a photo of a “Restricted Area” sign because we hadn’t expected access to be so limited. We were told that each extra person getting ready at the cabin, including our professional hair and makeup vendor, would cost $150. We understand there can be fees tied to space, hours, or occupancy, but this charge was unexpected and affected our experience. The $500 cleaning fee was also hard to understand given how little of the property we could access and the lack of basic facilities for our party and vendors. The setting was another letdown. The promotional photos didn’t make it clear that a fifth-wheel camper shared the ceremony area. We’ve included a photo so other couples can judge the setting for themselves. Before booking, I’d ask exactly which areas are open, where the bride, groom, wedding party, guests, and vendors can use the bathroom, whether on-site getting-ready fees apply, and what nearby structures or accommodations might be visible at the ceremony site. Occupancy limits came up during booking, but we didn’t realize how much they would restrict access. In the end, the experience didn’t match what we expected.

Our guests are still talking about the wedding weekend, and we’d happily return to Blue Sky Mountain Ranch. The cabin made our stay feel special, and the property has gorgeous views. Kevin and Jennifer were friendly, attentive, and quick to answer questions or help when we needed something. We couldn’t have been happier with how the weekend went, and every detail helped make it memorable.
