Some trailers are nicer than others, and the finishes aren’t necessarily high-end. The bed wasn’t comfortable, either. My son fell from a top bunk and needed stitches. We would never have booked an airstream with that kind of bed for our young child, but we were moved into one randomly. If you have younger kids, be aware that the bunk beds have no side rails, and the curved roof makes the space tight. The person managing the place was unkind and unprofessional, and gave me the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Some interactions felt personally hurtful and passive aggressive. It was bizarre, and I don’t think he should be managing the place. I almost never post negative reviews and usually have pleasant experiences. I’m a chill, understanding customer and don’t make an issue of problems, but this was completely abnormal. I’d give zero stars if I could.

We had beautiful weather during our two-night stay, and the unit was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for what it is. We used the fire pit at our unit, and there are a few more for groups. The onsite coffee shop was very nice, with great coffee and burritos. It’s dog friendly, which worked out for us. The location was great, with Munich, lions den, and Charlie Clarks nearby.

The motel rooms were better than the Airstream for price and space, and the bathroom was much better and stocked this time. The Airstream was filthy on my last visit, with no towels or toiletries left for me. I’ve given this place three chances, and I’m done. The worst part this time was the other guests. A dog next door kept whining and yelling, and I don’t know why they put me beside the only other occupied room for my two-night stay. On the first night, car doors slammed and a loud man talked around 10pm, waking me up. It was a Monday night in a sleepy mountain town, not a time for loud partying. Spreading guests out could have made it quieter. The place has a good price and location on the far east side of town, but it isn’t worth trying again. This time I also didn’t get the check-in details in advance, even though it’s self check-in with a code. I’ve enjoyed the overpriced coffee shop these people own next door on previous trips, but on Monday morning I felt ripped off: the wait was too long, and the avocado toast was gross, with a drink that was too expensive for its size. My first visit years ago, when I rented a solo cabin, may have been when the place had a different name. The cabins have become much pricier the last few times I checked. The back cabin may be the only way to basically guarantee quiet and comfort.

The biggest problem was the water at the kitchen sink. It smelled and tasted strongly of rubber or some kind of adhesive, and the manager said a recent plumbing repair was probably to blame. We bought water elsewhere for the rest of the trip. It only affected the sink, thankfully, not the shower, but nobody offered us another unit or acknowledged much of the inconvenience. I followed up through the website after we left because the problem lasted our whole stay, and never got a response. That lack of follow-through is a serious red flag, especially since it could have been a health concern. We were told on arrival that we were only the second guests in the newly renovated Airstream unit, “Summer Camp.” The renovation was nicely done, though there were no bath mats, and the bed rubbed against the wall and squeaked with any movement. Those were manageable issues. We liked the on-site coffee shop and that the lodge welcomes pets. After reading other Corduroy Lounge reviews, I can see there have been customer-service complaints too. Our stay was fine, but I wouldn’t return given how our concern was handled.
