Pinetop Studio Suites

This place seems very shady to me. I booked through booking.com, then called with questions because I planned to stay an extended time. They offered me a weekly rate and told me I didn’t need to cancel the booking.com reservation. The room we got had a broken window, and it didn’t match the pictures on booking.com. The people who work there were nice and helpful, and Anthony switched our room. I texted the number 3-4 days to renew, but the girl misunderstood and charged my card a week early. Minutes later, I was told they’d rented my room and had to move me to a downgrade with no kitchen. I had no choice because I needed somewhere to stay. It seems they have few rooms or book out quickly, since staff seem to be living there. I called Kim today about the $150 deposit I still haven’t received. She said they kept it because I hadn’t canceled the booking.com reservation, even though they told me I didn’t need to. That isn’t fair. I hope someone higher up or in management refunds my deposit, because this isn’t how business should be done.

The bed was so comfortable we didn’t want to get up, and that was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. I was wildly impressed with our quick trip to Pinetop Studio Suites, right in the heart of Pinetop. The rooms are a bit barebones and outdated, but still had everything we needed and more. A jacuzzi tub just a couple feet from the bed was such a cool feature, and we enjoyed a bubble bath while watching our favorite show on the Large tv with Roku. There’s also a little kitchenette with a decent sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker, another sink, and a spot to get ready. The room was a bit dark, so better lighting would be my one suggestion. I wish we’d stayed longer to try the other amenities, like the pool and sauna. My husband forgot his toothbrush and got one from their self serve market. I didn’t see anyone at the front desk or working there, but whoever helped me by phone and text was very responsive. It’s affordable and comfortable. I’d stay at Pinetop Studio Suites again and recommend it.

We felt unsafe here and won’t return. One night, kids kept racing through the halls and trying door codes on rooms that weren’t theirs. They tried my door several times. When I called the desk, staff said they knew the children were doing it. Later, a clerk pounded on my door about a DoorDash delivery and wouldn’t go away, frightening my teenage daughter, who I’d told not to open it. At 6:30 on checkout morning, two male employees were shouting in the laundry room beside our room and woke me and my children. The argument moved outside my window, where they used racial slurs. The location was good, but I wouldn’t advise a single mother traveling with kids to stay here.

We didn’t feel safe in the area, and service was nearly nonexistent. There was nobody at the front desk, so we called someone who barely spoke English. We asked to check in around 2 p.m., about an hour early. They confirmed the room was ready, then quoted an extra $10-$20. I’ve never encountered that at another hotel, and the unexplained price range seemed suspicious and irregular.
