Hampton Inn & Suites Charlotte/Pineville

The breakfast had more options than we've seen in quite a while, and it was amazing. Check-in was easy, our room was clean, and the linens were fresh. The shower pressure was fantastic. We were very happy with our stay.

In 73 Hilton nights this year across many properties, this was by far my worst stay. I'm a Diamond member, and spent three nights at the Hampton Inn in Pineville. The room was dirty in ways that went well beyond a quick vacuum: there was grime on the floors, stains on the curtains and bedding, visible fluids on the door, toothpaste on the vanity, and hair in the shower, sink, and even on the sheets. The bedroom condition was shocking and made the place feel filthy and unsafe. Only one light bulb worked in my two-room suite, and the room had a strong stale, musty odor. The furniture felt old and neglected. The mess continued outside the room. Trash sat by the elevator during my stay, and a floss pick was left in the hallway without being cleaned up. When I raised my concerns at the front desk, the employee seemed unconcerned, as if this was expected. I asked for a manager to call and got no response. I also left the manager a voicemail, which went unanswered. For a Hilton property, this level of neglect is unacceptable. I've had much better care at budget motels. I can't recommend this location and strongly advise looking elsewhere if cleanliness and responsiveness matter to you.

Danielle, the manager, was amazing, and the maintenance guy kept running around to help everyone with a smile. Jenny and Jeremiah at the front desk were just as friendly, patient, and helpful. Renovations are about to start, but even when we had a problem with our first room, the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. It was our first stay, and we'd gladly return with a team like this. Danielle deserves a raise for all she juggles!

The beds were comfortable and breakfast was great, but everything else needs work. Liquid and mold were coming out of the electrical outlets, and sharp metal bed rails stuck out from the mattresses. One had old fabric taped around it, so this clearly wasn't a new issue. Our digital keys didn't work, so we got card keys, which stopped working the next day. We waited at the desk almost twenty minutes for help, and the woman who arrived acted like it was no big deal. She gave us new cards and said the others had been deactivated because of remodeling, though there were no signs of remodeling anywhere. I booked two rooms across from each other for our baseball tournament team. The hotel looked amazing outside and in the lobby, but I won't stay again or recommend it.
