Gables Motel

The room didn’t even have a tub, let alone the jetted tub we expected from the website photos. I couldn’t bring myself to put my purse down or sit anywhere. My husband had pointed the place out because of those pictures, and the nightly rate made us think we’d be getting an ALL inclusive 5 star experience. Back at the office, they told me there’s ONLY ONE room like that, and it’s available only when the reservation is for more then one night. NEVER AGAIN!

Just tried #3, an adorable, huge attic style unit with a round bed and mirrors on the ceiling. You can holla till your throats sore, nobody hears you. I left with a sore throat. Very. 🔥. Because it's not with Austin.

I won’t be using their business. I needed a room in that area and had heard this was a nice motel, but my calls were answered with several hang-ups. When someone finally stayed on the line, she told me they DO NOT RESERVE ROOMS. I asked again to make sure I’d heard right, and she confirmed it’s first come first serve. So there’s no way to know if a room will be available when you arrive in town. That’s kind of crazy, but it’s their business, I guess. Her answer was abrupt and careless, then she quickly hung up on me again. The opposite of customer care.

Only one device per room can connect to the wifi, and the maintenance is poorly done. The maids don’t seem to know what clean is. For what it is, the place isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either.
