Motel 6 Pinole, CA

After the owner responded, I still say they need to do something about the property instead of posting a generic reply. Bad reviews have been piling up for years. What a shame to offer a place in this condition. The online pictures are misleading. My room smelled, the sheets and blankets were filthy, the shower was falling apart, and the sink was broken. There were also strange people around. At one ground level room, people were washing clothes right outside the door. I’m not coming back. Where are management and the state regulatory bodies? Places like this should be shut down.

The room was extremely dirty, and there was barely any service. The smoke detector kept beeping, and I was told to take it down and wait for maintenance to replace the battery at 8am. They never showed up. One attendant was very rude, though another was just as nice.

I called the front desk about roaches in our room, and the guy said there couldn’t be any because it had been cleaned. What’s wrong with that conversation? Where was the apology? We finally got another room, but it was dirty too. The wardrobe was broken, the bathroom fan grille was missing, the blankets had cigarette holes, and the phone didn’t work. Both ice machines and the washing machine were broken. The pool area was disgusting, with bottle lids, batteries, and other dirt around it. Who wants to stay here? This motel should be closed or used as a hotel for homeless people.

I couldn’t sleep for the rest of my stay after what happened. The front desk moved me to another room and said they’d look into the first one, but how are you supposed to sleep after that? The first room looked like it had never been cleaned. When I lay on the bed, something crawled on my arm. I looked and saw a cockroach, then another one. I pulled back the sheets and found the mattress saturated with blood and brown stains. It made me sick to my stomach. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had, worse than I could’ve imagined at Motel 6. They still haven’t responded to my review, even to apologize or offer any kind of compensation for the awful stay. I’m never going back. I’m going to tell everybody I know not to go there. Motel 6, you’ve lost your last loyal customer.
