Red Roof Inn & Suites Piqua - I-75

We had a peaceful, lovely stay here for our second honeymoon. The room was clean and nice, and getting fresh towels each day was no trouble. The bed had a bit of bounce but was very comfortable. The staff were really nice, and we loved the complimentary breakfast.

We liked the room. I did tell the owner on site that the toilets felt low, even though I’m average height, and could be taller. The flooring might need minor repairs, though that may just have been in our room. They let us know right away that they only had coffee at the time, which was fine, and that they were adding a restaurant area.

When I arrived for a week-long stay, I asked for a ground-floor room because my husband has had several knee surgeries. He can walk, but stairs are hard for him. The clerk said that floor costs about $20 more per night, which would be over $100 extra. I said to put us on level two. Then I asked where the elevator was and learned there were only stairs, not even a ramp. If you can’t manage stairs at all, don’t stay here. It doesn’t accommodate disabled guests unless they pay an excessive extra cost. I’ve never seen this at a hotel with inside access only. The room looked okay at first, but when I brushed my teeth, the water smelled like sewer gas and tasted bad. I might almost have dealt with all of that, but when I got into bed, the sheets clearly hadn’t been changed. There were body fluids all over them. We called down, they brought fresh sheets, and my husband and I changed the bed ourselves. All they said was sorry. I’m disgusted and absolutely don’t recommend this place.

The rooms are just right for the price, and housekeeping is friendly. The staff are kind and sweet, and even got me to open up, though I usually don’t talk to people. It’s a clean, pleasant, affordable place with a really delicious free breakfast every morning I was there, kept fresh and well refrigerated. I’d love to stay again.
