Motel 6 Pittsburg. CA

The room itself seemed good, but the water was cold at both the shower and sink. The heater also took a long time to warm up, and it was very cold. I was charged twice for the one night I stayed. The front desk was okay, though the people were a mixed bag. Some were nice and some weren't, so I guess it depends who you speak with.

The staff went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, and were very helpful. My room was spotless, including the shower and floors. The smoking room I booked didn't smell like cigarettes, and the mattress was firm, just how I like it. Thanks, Motel 6. I'm staff a Pittsburg California. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd definitely stay again.

It was too hot to stay in the room, so we checked out and asked for a refund. They said it would take 3-5 business days, even though the money had come out of our account in about 30 seconds. We were told we couldn't get a full refund because we'd been checked in for more than 30 minutes. The A/C hadn't been turned on at check-in, and it was at least 95 degrees outside and hotter in the room. We left to let it cool, but two hours later it was still hot. The front desk said they'd send maintenance. After waiting another two hours, we called again and were told the maintenance guy was busy. Why not tell us that on the first call? We asked for another room until the A/C was fixed, but were told they were all booked. As we left, other people told us they'd checked out because of the service too, so we weren't the only ones. Worst hotel experience. I'll never stay at a Motel 6 again and will tell people not to choose your hotels either.

The check-in woman was really respectful and honored my request for a ground-floor room, but the room itself was unsanitary. The floors badly needed cleaning, the furniture needed wiping down, the box springs had questionable stains, and it smelled so bad we bought candles and room spray. The bathroom faucet also needed replacing. When turned on, it sprayed a fine mist everywhere. Getting to the motel was awkward too, since you have to turn around in the Walmart parking lot to reach it from the highway. I've stayed in high-end motels and other Motel 6s, which were clean and nice. This one was ridiculously priced for the quality, especially compared with the clean, nice Motel 6s in TX/OK that cost half as much. I had to cancel my first night, and the young man I spoke with was rude when I asked about check-in time. He said 5-6 p.m. even after I explained I'd be traveling all night and arriving around 11 or a little later. When I asked if that meant I had to sit in my vehicle until then, he said, “yeah if you want a clean room,” then said he had to go because he had a customer. I asked, “well what am I?”
