I've had repeated concerns about cleanliness. During a stay last summer, I found stains on the bedspread from previous guests and a dirty shower at check-in, and the same kinds of issues were still present on my latest visit. I had to ask for the room to be vacuumed and mopped and for the beds to be made, which I consider standard service. I did accidentally spill Thai tea on the bed while working on my doctoral research, but that was an isolated accident, not intentional. I've consistently tipped housekeeping and thanked them; I just wanted to return to a hygienic room. When I asked the cleaning person to take the trash, she replied, “I thought that was your personel things.” I was also concerned about safety and security. I encountered two people who seemed to be unauthorized guests in the building. One was using a knife to open food in a common area, and another was yelling at the bar attendant. Those encounters made the place feel unsafe and unprofessional. My most troubling interaction was with front desk manager Ryan. I asked for change for the laundry and he said he couldn't open the safe, insisting I use my bank card in the machine. When I declined and asked about the professional relationship between my institution and the hotel, Ryan said that my school spent enough money that if he called them, I would be “put in my place.” I found that threatening, unprofessional and unacceptable. That was when I called Dr. Pat Lee. I also sensed racial indifference from both the parking attendant and Ryan. As a minister and scholar, I hold myself to a high standard. I stayed polite, wasn't aggressive, and followed the protocols. I found the hostility and bias a serious departure from the hospitality I expect. I'm sharing this feedback hoping you will protect your cohort and address housekeeping standards, security protocols and staff sensitivity training. I look forward to hearing how these concerns will be resolved. If you've had an unsafe, filthy and shady experience, please email me.

The room was huge and comfortable for my multiple-night stay, and the location worked well for walking to meetings and business engagements in better weather. I'd suggest adding an HDMI extender cord behind the TVs. I travel with a firestick and would've liked to use it, though I understand why the TV was bolted to the wall. I checked in late and felt rushed. The service wasn't friendly, and I got keys without a room number, just the floor. My reservation included breakfast, but I wasn't given vouchers. In the morning I tried again with a friendly approach, but the desk person asked me to wait while she finished something on the computer. Before helping me, she called out to a couple with a child who were leaving and asked if they were checking out, even though I was standing at the desk. When I explained about the missing breakfast vouchers, she checked and gave me a few. The following day she loudly asked if I was checking out as I left for a business engagement. She was simply rude. I had a great interaction one day with someone I believe was the manager while I waited for breakfast at the bar/takeout area.

The room was spacious and comfortable, but there wasn't onsite parking. Street spots were hard to find and usually occupied. Service was below par too, including two separate interactions with two different women at the front desk that felt unfriendly and disrespectful. The room was serviced the morning after check-in, but the towels weren't replaced. The next day it was skipped entirely, despite the welcome letter saying rooms are serviced daily. I reported it to the evening desk and was told to speak to the morning shift. In the morning they noted my request, but the room still wasn't serviced when I returned that evening. The woman at the desk said she only handled check-in and checkout, couldn't help or connect me to anyone else, and told me to wait until 7 AM to speak with a manager. After I asked to move rooms, she agreed. One missed service might have been understandable, but two days in a row wasn't acceptable. I wouldn't recommend the hotel unless they fix these issues and train staff to treat guests respectfully. Some listings call it a 4-star hotel and others say 3 stars. To me, it's below 2 stars.

I've stayed here three times and really like the rooms, which are very large and distinctive, with a simple art deco look. The service has been extremely good. We came in very early and the staff helped us get into our room much earlier than usual. Two nights cost less than $300. Great weekend!! I'll post pics of our room.

The room was spacious and nice overall, and the desk staff were great and very friendly when we arrived. Reggie was the cherry on top. We found street parking and avoided the steep $35 valet charge. There was no carpet, so the room echoed and felt loud. I found myself trying to be quieter there than I am in my own apartment.
