The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the downtown location is perfect. The parking situation, though, was a shock. The booking gave no indication that valet was the only hotel parking option, and it costs $45 a day. That’s insanely expensive, and for a stay of a few nights the parking cost more than the room. I can’t give it five stars because the parking wasn’t made clear when booking.

The lobby is cool, the location is good, and the bar and restaurant on site are good too. My room was spotless and modern, with a nice dimming light beside the bed. The shower pressure is insane, you’ll see what I mean. It was way cheaper, cleaner, and nicer than the Marriott down the road, and I’d definitely stay here again.

From the moment I arrived at Joinery Hotel Pittsburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The location worked perfectly for exploring downtown Pittsburgh, and the rooms were modern, beautifully designed, comfortable, and impeccably clean. Every detail felt thoughtfully put together. A top tier hotel experience, and I can’t wait to return.

The old Salvaiton Army building has a nice lobby, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. The restaurant was quite expensive, though it wasn’t busy on Friday night, and you get a token for one free drink. My room was small. If you work remotely, be aware that the only desk is a small wall-mounted folding one, and the chair has no casters. I didn’t have a rental car, but overnight valet was $45. There’s a garage down the street for $15, as I recall. I thought bottled water was free for Hilton Plus members, but it’s only for silver or gold level.

The front desk staff were helpful, and it was often easier to get help here than at other hotel franchisees. The doorman was pleasant, the bar token for a complimentary drink was a perk, and using the site’s bicycles could make for a fun outing on warmer days. The lobby was comfortable, and the rooftop mezzanine is a great photo spot overlooking the city’s financial area. The Golden Triangle location is a plus, with ample parking, though you pay for off-site parking or use valet with unlimited in-and-out. I chose the public option. My room was micro, as expected for the segment, but it was missing an iron and ironing board, replaced by a neighborhood guide on the wall that I didn’t use. The carpeting in my unit was holy. Doors shut and rattled all night, and the heater’s metal rattling kept me up. I could only keep it on auto or low. In the renovated wet space, the shower head dripped every minute, if not every five seconds, which was maddening. This was better than some other Hiltons I’ve been to, but I’d avoid a room facing the massive parking garage.
