I’m very disappointed that they charged my account for room cleaning without clearly telling me beforehand. I didn’t agree to the fee, and it feels unfair. I’d like them to be more transparent about extra charges.

The staff were nice, and there were no bedbugs. The room itself was cramped and laid out awkwardly, though, and smelled of weed and cigarettes. No ice maker or in-room microwave either, just one microwave in the lobby. The bedding kept slipping off and seemed too small, and there weren’t enough towels for more than one person. They did bring extra when I asked.

The people I spoke with were polite, but I wouldn’t stay here again with other choices available. My husband booked it, since I’m usually the one who researches places. There were only two towels and washcloths for two people for two nights, though they brought another towel when I asked. With tile or linoleum outside the tub, I needed one. We also got just one key between us at first. The room smelled strongly of weed, despite being described as nonsmoking, and the linens had burn marks while the curtains had mold stains. The AC didn’t work. It was fall in PA, so that wasn’t a major issue then, but I wonder whether the heat will work when it’s needed.

The whole place could use a serious cleaning, and the air had weed, curry, incense, and mildew smells mixed together. It’s an old hotel that’s past its best. The room was OK and it worked for what I needed, but I’d only come back if everywhere else were booked.
