William Watson Hotel

My wife’s personal cell seems to be getting calls meant for the hotel. Around busy travel times, like now, she gets bursts of hotel calls for days. It’s surreal. Every hotel listing we’ve found shows what seems to be the correct number, and this doesn’t happen constantly, so I assume something in their call handling may be forwarding calls to a secondary help desk or voicemail. Maybe the forwarding number is wrong. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I’m not even sure I understand the problem well enough to know who to contact about it.

The room was spacious and homey, with a newer SmartTV and reliable, fast Wi-Fi. I liked that the sheets, pillows, and towels were better quality than at the chain hotel I’d stayed at for work the week before, more like a higher class place. The bed was firmer than I prefer, so I stacked several of the many pillows and slept on those. The shower got nice and hot with good pressure. There’s a nice restaurant attached Wednesday through Saturday, and basic breakfast items like oatmeal, cereal, and fruit cups are available. It’s a great historic hotel with friendly service that doesn’t really feel like a hotel. There are several dining options within walking distance, Walmart is less than half a mile away, and a 24 hour Casey's convenience store is nearby. A good place to stay when visiting Pike County, IL.

Across from the courthouse, this historic hotel is really cute. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and there were four big fluffy pillows. It had a ROKU TV, so we watched some Gunsmoke and fell asleep after a fun night out. Coffee was provided in the room, along with a mini fridge and microwave. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in Pittsfield, IL. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a great, very quiet stay on a weeknight. The room was clean and cozy, with covers on the beds, a TV, microwave, mini fridge, toiletries, and fresh towels. The shower was clean and worked well. Breakfast was continental, with yogurt, granola bars, and cereal, and there’s a cafe within walking distance if you’d prefer a hot breakfast. The building’s architecture and history were awesome. There are steps at the entrance, and our room was on the second floor, so it isn’t handicap accessible. Highly recommend, and thank you.
