Residence Inn Plainview Long Island

Our event here was such a memorable stay, and our guests were blown away by how nice the hotel was. It's tucked away off Old Country Rd, so it felt quiet and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, and I liked having a kitchen for leftovers or cold drinks. Breakfast was tasty each morning, too. Everyone was super nice. I love this Residence Inn by Marriott, one of the nicest places I've stayed. I'd recommend it if you're staying on Long Island.

The decor gives the place a 60s or 70s feel, but it's charming and very well maintained. There are two pools and a really nice patio out back. Breakfast is free each morning with a good range of food, and Monday through Thursday they also serve a full dinner with beer and wine, all free. The rooms have what you need for a comfortable longer stay, including plenty of TV channels and free wired and wireless wifi that's fast enough for most things.

My parents, who are over 80, stayed for five weeks while their new apartment was being renovated. They treated it like the vacation they hadn't been able to take during the work, and didn't want to leave. The food suited them, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making them feel at home. When I called and gave their name, the woman at the desk said, "we love them." Their room was spacious, new, and comfortable, and the location was convenient. They couldn't have been happier with their choice.

The photos online don't do this older hotel justice; it looked nicer in person, and the breakfast was great. The place was clean, but the furniture and bathroom felt very dated. The bed sagged a bit. I could put up with it for one night, but my husband couldn't. Loud noise from the ceiling kept us from sleeping well. I told the front desk, but got no sympathy. They took my number for the manager, and three days later I still hadn't heard back.
