Days Inn by Wyndham Pleasant Prairie Kenosha

I had booked two rooms for a week for our crew working in Kenosha, but they left the next morning exhausted after one night because the rooms were so dirty they couldn't sleep. I had to scramble to find them another hotel since they refused to stay a second night. Management said housekeeping was short-staffed and didn't dispute the photo I sent of the dirty bedding. They still wouldn't refund what we paid for that terrible night. A really awful experience.

The breakfast setup was the highlight for me. Everything was clean and easy to find, from the drinks, coffee, sugar, cups and snacks to the cereals, plates and utensils. I was surprised they had hot sausages and eggs, plus a little fridge with yogurt and milk. There were two waffle makers, one for four small waffles and one for a large one, and they made waffles fast. I loved that part, and had a nice chat with a kind older person there too. Everyone I met was warm and friendly. My room was in good shape, with no bugs or bad smells. The bathroom was small but clean and tidy, and the sink was handy even with several people around. I booked a double bed room, and the mattress was comfortable without sagging. The front desk lady was patient and enthusiastic, explained the internet, breakfast hours and where my room was, and helped me relax after a tiring day of travel. I don't know why some reviews are low, I thought the place was great.

They were knocking on doors before checkout to ask if people were leaving, which felt pretty uncomfortable. The building and rooms are dated, and breakfast wasn't much good. The tiny soaps and shampoo were useless, too. There's no elevator, and I wish they'd make that clear before you book. I wouldn't recommend it.

Save yourself the trouble and pay $30 more to stay at Double Tree. My first room was unsanitary, with some kind of pills and other dirt under the bed. They don't give refunds, so they moved me to another room. It was better, but still not great. Sad to see rooms in that shape going for $90 a night.
