Holiday Inn Express Plymouth-ann Arbor

We booked two rooms for Thanksgiving weekend because the hotel is close to my in-laws. There weren’t any king beds, so we took two queens. My husband developed what we believe was scabies from his bed. The rash has been very uncomfortable; he’s been on antibiotics and steroids for nearly a month, and it also triggered eczema and may leave scars. We told the manager we were concerned that the sheets hadn’t been changed between guests and that housekeeping was cutting corners. He didn’t seem to care and said my husband must have gotten it somewhere else. We weren’t asking for compensation, only for precautions to protect other guests. Stay at your own risk.

The location is hard to beat if you’re going to an event at USA Hockey Arena. Our room was decent, clean, and well maintained, and the service was fine. Breakfast was good, and although the pool is small, my kids had fun in it. Nothing negative to report from me.

The staff are always courteous, and the pool is small but works great for kids. A good place to stay when you’re in town for a USA NTDP hockey game.

Maria was the standout at breakfast. She kept the food hot and the condiments filled, made sure coffee was available, and even let us know when French toast was ready. She was always one step ahead of what guests needed. The complimentary buffet had a good range of hearty choices and fruit, probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. We were there for a one-night friends’ getaway. The room was spotless and spacious, with two queen beds and a pullout sofa that was surprisingly comfortable, no springs poking through. Checkout at noon was generous too. We’ll keep Holiday Inn Express in mind for future trips.
