SpringHill Suites by Marriott Philadelphia Plymouth Meeting

We were tired after a long day, so we just made do, but neither room had the pull-out couch we'd booked. We started with a king room with a pull-out, then got moved to a room with two double beds and a pull-out. Both times, the couch was just a very hard convertible surface. Not impressed. The hotel feels worn and needs an upgrade or money spent on upkeep. On top of that, the toilet ran all night because of a faulty flap, and the vanity sink was clogged. We won't be back.

The hotel was hot and damp, and I couldn't find any ice machines. The pull-out couch was awful. Its old mattress had disgusting stains, and I felt it poking into my back all night.

We stayed here over the past weekend, and it was a poor experience. The hotel is shabby and run down, with worn-out furnishings that looked like they belonged at the curb or in a Goodwill. The sofa was nearly useless, the sheets had big holes and tears, the tub wouldn't drain, and the AC worked only off and on. We asked staff to fix the tub, but they never addressed it. Service was poor and staff barely courteous. We used the laundry room, but there were no soap dispensers. At the front desk, the clerk charged us $2 for one soap pod, even after we reminded them about the tub and AC problems. Many families were there for a nearby lacrosse tournament, but breakfast didn't start until 7 AM, so people with 8 AM games had to find breakfast elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially for families attending LAX events.

We keep coming back to this hotel when we're in the Philadelphia area. It's reasonably priced and about 30-45 minutes from the city, depending on traffic. Breakfast is always decent, the staff are friendly, and Bev did a wonderful job during our stay.
