Our room was a decent size and had a full refrigerator and stovetop, a nice extra even though we didn’t need them. The hotel is conveniently located near a main road and some shops. Still, I wouldn’t choose it again. There was nowhere to sit except a hard desk chair, and no ice machines. I was surprised there was no hair dryer. When I asked, they couldn’t find one; they eventually did, but only after I’d left to buy one. Someone nearby was smoking weed, and the smell was very strong. Staff must have smelled it in the hall. I complained at the desk. I also noticed a few housekeeping issues that lowered the room’s quality: the sink drained poorly, the blinds were broken, and there was a problem with the toilet seat. The TV didn’t work either. When we called, they told us to unplug it and try again. I provided pictures.
I booked a non-smoking room and got one. I was also able to wait for a different room I’d asked for. After that, everything was fine. David was helpful, as were the two other employees, whose names I can’t remember. They were great too.
In the morning the elevator stopped working, which was a serious problem for the disabled guests who had been put on the second and third floors. Breakfast was only coffee. The refrigerator in my room didn’t work, so the food I brought spoiled. This place is a joke. Don’t waste your time or money coming here unless you want to waste your money and put yourself in danger.
My brother and I booked six nights while working in the area. The staff were great, but housekeeping gets a minus ten. The room looked very clean when we arrived and checked the beds, though it had an odd smell. The hallway didn’t smell great either, so we didn’t think much of it at first. Two days later, the odor was so overwhelming it made me nauseous. It seemed to come from the kitchenette sink. I told the front desk it smelled like sewer and asked maintenance to check whether the sink trap was working. She immediately wrote up a maintenance ticket and offered to take a look herself. I said unless she had wrenches, I doubted she could fix it. She apologized and gave me air freshener to mask the smell until it could be checked. Back in the room, I opened the cabinet under the sink to investigate and nearly fell over. The source was a bag of old food containers and dirty diapers. I took it to the desk, and she sincerely apologized and said she’d contact the manager immediately.
The manager, Aswani, seems to run a much tighter ship than the service I experienced on my earlier visit. I stayed for a week earlier this year and returned this past weekend for work. The room was immaculately cleaned, with fresh linens and soft towels. The hotel could clearly use some upgrades, but for the price, the comfort made the stay worthwhile. Kia also deserves a shout-out for greeting me with a bright smile and good conversation every time. That made the stay especially memorable. I’d definitely come back.
