Best Western Plus Cold Spring

The staff really made our stay. They genuinely cared about the guests and went out of their way to make things enjoyable. Since we arrived early after a red eye flight, they let us check in ahead of schedule and have breakfast too. Our room was spacious and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had everything we needed. The grounds were well kept and the breakfast area spotless. We recently had the chance to stay at the Best Western Plus in Plymouth, and I'd highly recommend it if you're visiting.

The gentleman at the Best Western desk was nice, and the staff member there promptly helped with our refund. That was about the only good part of the stay. We came because of the positive reviews, which must have been written in a different universe. The motel needs major refurbishment. The room was old, the mattress was in rough shape, and the floors were stained. It was dirty too, with no vacuuming, stained chairs, cobwebs in the corners, dirt across the floor and under the bed, and garbage under there. The bathroom was stained and gross, though I did manage to kill a couple of spiders. I didn't see bed bugs, but there were dried beetle husks in a corner. Whatever got caught in the cobweb under the bed had been dead for a long time. The sheets were flipped over on the mattress, so I couldn't tell if they were dirty and had been turned over on purpose or if the cleaning person did it to save time. I'm not joking, this is all true. It was probably the worst, dirtiest place I've almost stayed in, because we left. We'd rather sleep in our car. Until there are major changes, don't stay here. We were misled by glowing reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, and had been scared away by bad local reviews of the Marriott and Hilton. Plymouth's hotels all seem to have bad reviews, and given how consistent the bad ones are, I don't really trust the good ones. We drove half an hour to the Town place Suites by Marriott Wareham Buzzards Bay. It was amazing, very nice and clean, and I highly recommend it. Sorry to the nice man at the Best Western front desk, this wasn't his fault. I attached a few photos, though they don't really show how bad the room was. They do show a couple of the stains and dirt. The fridge was leaking and hadn't been cleaned out either. Visitors beware.

The reception staff were excellent, and the location worked well for visiting Plymouth. Our room was a good size and clean, and breakfast was okay with plenty available. The air conditioning and heating worked really well, though they were noisy. I marked the room down because we could hear the bathroom upstairs whenever it was being used.

I called three weeks after checking out because I thought I might have left my favorite watch in the room. Mark searched lost and found, called me back, and is shipping it to me. I figured something valuable probably wouldn't make it back to its owner, so this was a really lovely surprise. The staff are amazing. Thanks to Mark and the cleaning team!
