Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Pocahontas

We ate at Don's Steakhouse Pocahantas down the road, next to Walmart. The food was good and the prices nice, though they don’t serve alcohol if that matters to you. It was busy with lots of locals. The hotel itself was a nice place for a decent price: clean rooms, friendly staff, no complaints, and a fine breakfast.

We slept well and had a nice continental breakfast, with kind staff in the morning and housekeeping. Since we expected to arrive around midnight, we called during the day. They gladly left a note for the next host so we wouldn’t lose the room for arriving late. The staff were friendly when we got there, too.

The room was super clean, larger than we expected, and had a huge bathroom. The bed was comfortable, too. Breakfast was okay, but there wasn’t much to choose from and it could have been better. Joe at the front desk was great with our last-minute stay, took time to help, and even put up with my husband’s bad jokes. I don’t stay in hotels often, but this was one of my best stays. I’d come back to this location.

Only smoking rooms were left, and ours smelled awful, but that couldn’t really be helped. My family and I were exhausted, needed a place that could take our cat, and Rene did everything she could to air out the room and help us get some rest. We came downstairs a few minutes after breakfast had ended, but Stephanie still let us eat and made sure we had plenty of water for the drive.
