Super 8 Pocatello

The in-room jacuzzi had wonderfully hot water, which made the stay so relaxing and incredible. The staff were lovely and accommodating, and there was a good hot and cold breakfast every morning, even on Christmas day. I loved this hotel. Stay here!

I was born into the hospitality business. My parents bought a hotel chain that competed with this one just before I was born, then built a Super 8 in 1997. I tend to inspect guest spaces and rooms closely because of that background, noticing things many guests might miss. If I were your inspector, you'd pass with flying colors. Everything from the parking area and motel lobby to the guest spaces and my room was incredibly clean. I couldn't find a speck of dirt or a stray hair. Thanks to the housekeeper who cleaned my room! I checked in around 12:30-1:00 AM and expected the front desk agent to be annoyed at the late hour. Instead, James greeted me with such a genuine, welcoming attitude. James, you need a raise, I'm serious. I thought you were the manager from the way you made me feel welcome. You were born for customer service, and Super 8 & Wyndham are lucky to have you. You can't train that kind of genuine care. Ask anyone who's trained a new desk agent. I can tell you care about the property and the people you work for, which is rare. Thanks for getting me a room so late, walking me through the details, and doing it all with a friendly, professional, caring manner.

This was honestly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Our first room was basically flooded. We told the front desk person, who said water leaked through the window seal, but didn't help. When I got out of bed, I stepped in it and soaked my socks. We finally told a different front desk person, who moved us. The room was also outrageously dirty. There were yellow stains and black things on the sheets, so we stripped the bed to feel comfortable lying down.

This was easily our best stay during a week of traveling and stopping somewhere each night. Jag checked us in with a great personality and made us feel welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, the shower had great pressure, and the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, firm enough that it wasn't like a marshmallow.
