Atlantic Motel

The room was clean and the rates were reasonable, but the smell of old cigarette smoke made this a terrible visit for us. Even more than 24 hours after leaving, I was still feeling the effects of sleeping in that room. The signs say no smoking, so I don't understand why it smelled so bad. It's a typical beach motel without amenities. The office doesn't open until 9:30am, which meant I couldn't get ice for the day, and you have to borrow a blow dryer from the front desk. The towels and pillows could use replacing. The location is pretty great, but I wouldn't stay again with that smoke smell.

The rooms are cozy and clean, and the great location makes them well worth the modest price. The front desk staff is really nice, especially the man who helped me today. Housekeeping had skipped my room, but he got it sorted out right away. I'd highly recommend the Atlantic Motel.

We've stayed here a few times while fishing in the area and have never had a bad experience. The location is just right for our trips, and it's next to one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to. Check-in is quick, the rooms are decent, and the price is reasonable. It could use some updating, but I'm from the area and know it can be hard to find a decent motel on the shore. We plan to come back every time.

The walls are paper thin, so you hear every little noise from nearby cars or other guests. We could hear a family next door, along with all the little bumps. The room was budget level and missing basics like a coffee maker and tissues. The duvet had drool stains, and I found loose hair in a drawer and a short, curly hair on one towel. The bed itself was clean, though the mattress was extremely firm, which is more of a personal complaint. Water from the shower also spreads onto the bathroom floor, so bring extra towels. The wifi had no password, which concerned me. The front desk was fast, but not especially pleasant or informative. The beach passes weren't complimentary as advertised on TripAdvisor. They were discounted and only good for the day. Also, the blow dryer is kept at the front desk. The price was cheaper than other places, so I got what I paid for, but I probably wouldn't stay again. Edit: I meant TripAdvisor, not Booking.com, when I said they advertised free beach passes.
