Dunes by the Ocean

The beach beside the hotel was quiet and private, with hardly anyone there. We booked at the last minute and were glad we did. The room was very clean, the pool was clean too, and the air conditioning worked amazingly well. The person at the front of the hotel was really nice. We had a wonderful stay with our family.

The pool area was nice, and the beds were fine, but we never got a quiet moment despite how strict they say they are about noise. We could hear the neighbors' TV all night and then their family talking word for word through the morning. The walls are so thin. The property is run down. The hallway floors outside our room were soaked and badly in need of repair. Public beach access was closed, though the beach was maybe a five-minute walk away, and the hotel's directions were terrible. The front desk person was atrocious. I'd called twice before arriving and thought the rudeness might be due to a bad connection, but when we got there she didn't even say hello.

We found the hotel on booking.com, and they upgraded us for free to a two-bedroom apartment when we arrived. It gave our family a lot more room. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we'd definitely recommend staying here.

The public beach was only a two-minute walk away, and the area we used wasn't crowded, though the $20 fee was a little more than Jenkinson’s. Jenkinson’s boardwalk itself is about a 20-minute walk. Our room was very spacious for the price, and the beds weren't especially comfortable, but they were reasonable for what we paid. The pool looked large and clean, though we didn't use it, and there's a nice patio outside it.
